The Bombard Residence
This past summer we had the opportunity. to work with a talented designer in Chicago on a residential furniture package.
We designed and built multiple custom furniture pieces for a beautiful early 1900’s Tudor home on the South side of Chicago. We worked hand in hand with Hilary Bombard, a gifted interior designer who has been renovating and decorating this unique home with her husband Ross.
The highlight of the project was a solid walnut bathroom double vanity that our team hand built in our shop in Columbus. It featured beaded door and drawer fronts carved in walnut with brass hardware and topped with a gorgeous marble top. It was a team effort through and through from the design to the fabrication to the finish work. It feels as good as it looks!
“We get so many compliments on our pieces from A Carpenter’s Son. Working with them has been amazing each time we’ve done it. I’m able to share a few loose ideas and images and they are able to design and make something amazing that exceeds what I had in my mind.”
Brass hardware provides a classic pop against the warm walnut.
Our team designed and built this matching walnut window bench that complimented the vanity.
We also worked with Hilary and Ross to build their dining room table and bench, as well as a hallway bench. These center pieces bring home our mission of building pieces that bring people together as their family and friends gather to spend time together regularly.
“The pieces we have in our home have quite literally brought us together as a family and we see them as heirloom pieces that we pass down to our family members.”
“I recommend ACS to everybody, all the time. I’ve never encountered a business that works this way and makes your ideas more amazing, involves you in the process and creates such a high quality product. I’ve never seen anything like this model before and we will be coming back to them year after year for more pieces.” - Hilary Bombard
